The "Night Shift", is a company that contracts Christians to clean up the messes (and monsters) created by "sin energy" residue, a spiritual substance left behind by human acts of disobedience against God's law. These monsters are called "sins" and they only come out at night, when darkness reigns, and can only be stopped by the light that shines within the hearts of Christians, the light of Jesus.
Wanae Wanami is a tired, cynical, grocery store clerk in Tokyo by day and an even more tired, cynical "Night-Shifter" by night, just to make ends meet. But, despite a seemingly impactful career, Wanae's dreams of changing people's lives has dwindled in the face of reality...people don't change. But the question left to be answered is...does that mean we stop trying?
